Greenstat X DNV Safety Webinar | Session 3: Consequence Modelling in Practice (PHAST Applications)

Session 3: Consequence Modelling in Practice (PHAST Applications)

Greenstat Asia, in partnership with DNV, is pleased to continue the Hydrogen Safety & Risk Assessment Webinar Series 2026 – an eight-part programme running from July to October 2026, designed to build awareness and understanding of process safety, consequence modelling, risk assessment, and hydrogen safety across academia, industry, and government.

This session introduces participants to consequence modelling and its practical application using DNV's PHAST software. It explores how the potential outcomes of hazardous events – such as fires, explosions, and toxic releases – are predicted and quantified to support effective safety planning and informed decision-making across energy and hydrogen infrastructure projects.

The session will demonstrate how consequence modelling translates hazardous scenarios into measurable impacts, helping engineers and safety professionals evaluate severity, plan mitigation measures, and strengthen the design and operation of safe facilities.

Webinar Details
📅 Date: 7 August 2026 🕓 Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (IST)

Key Topics

  • What is Consequence Modelling?
  • Types of Hazards: Fire, Explosion, and Toxic Release
  • Modelling Hazardous Scenarios with PHAST
  • How Modelling Supports Safety Planning
  • Interpreting Consequence Modelling Results
  • Application to Hydrogen and Energy Projects

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will:

  • Understand the purpose and fundamentals of consequence modelling
  • Recognize the main types of industrial hazards and their potential effects
  • Gain insight into how PHAST is applied to model real-world scenarios
  • Understand how modelling outputs support safety planning and risk reduction
  • See how consequence modelling fits within the broader risk assessment process
  • Build on foundational concepts toward quantitative risk assessment (QRA) and hydrogen safety applications

Who Should Attend?

  • University faculty, researchers, and students
  • Engineers and technical professionals
  • Government and regulatory representatives
  • Energy, petroleum, chemical, and utility sector professionals
  • Safety practitioners and consultants

This webinar forms part of a structured eight-session learning journey designed to progressively build knowledge from foundational concepts to practical applications and industry use cases. Participants are encouraged to register for the full series to gain maximum value from the programme and develop a comprehensive understanding of hydrogen safety and risk assessment.

Seats are limited. Register early to secure your place.
