Greenstat Asia X DNV Safety Webinar Session 7: Advanced Modelling Awareness (Introduction to CFD & KFX)

Session 7: Advanced Modelling Awareness (Introduction to CFD & KFX)

Greenstat, in partnership with DNV, is pleased to continue the Hydrogen Safety & Risk Assessment Webinar Series 2026 – an eight-part programme running from July to October 2026, designed to build awareness and understanding of process safety, consequence modelling, risk assessment, and hydrogen safety across academia, industry, and government.

This session introduces participants to advanced modelling approaches and the role of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in addressing complex safety scenarios, with an introduction to DNV's KFX software. Building on the consequence and risk modelling concepts from earlier sessions, it explores the limitations of simplified models and demonstrates when more detailed, physics-based simulation is required to accurately capture real-world behaviour.

The session will highlight how CFD-based tools like KFX provide higher-fidelity insight into dispersion, fire, and explosion scenarios in geometrically complex environments – supporting more robust safety assessment for energy and hydrogen infrastructure projects.
