Greenstat Hydrogen Sri Lanka Partners with Gexcon India and Leading Universities to Establish Hydrogen & Process Safety Centre of Excellence

Greenstat Hydrogen Sri Lanka (GHSL) has joined forces with Gexcon India and Sri Lanka’s top universities—University of Ruhuna, University of Moratuwa, University of Peradeniya, and University of Jaffna—to launch the Centre of Excellence – Hydrogen & Process Safety (COE-H).

Gexcon, a global leader in safety and risk management, specializes in explosion, fire, and gas dispersion modeling. With over 50 years of experience, Gexcon has contributed to advanced safety research, regulatory compliance, and process risk analysis worldwide.

This groundbreaking collaboration will drive hydrogen safety research, risk management, and industry training while aligning Sri Lanka’s regulatory frameworks with international standards. The COE-H will focus on advanced safety modeling, VR/AR-based training, accident prevention, and global research partnerships.

GHSL, as the Industry Partner, will provide strategic support, while Gexcon India, the Knowledge Partner, will contribute expertise in explosion risk analysis and process safety. The universities will serve as Academic Partners, fostering education and research to develop a world-class workforce in hydrogen safety.

This initiative strengthens Sri Lanka’s transition to a green hydrogen economy, ensuring safe and sustainable energy development while positioning the COE-H as a global leader in hydrogen process safety.
